What Does It Include?

Week One: Meaning 

All human beings want to feel that their lives are meaningful. The problem is it’s deeply personal. In this week you will connect with the source of meaning in your life makes you feel happier and builds longer term wellbeing.

Week Two: Presence 

A lot of our unhappiness comes from having our thoughts in the past or in the future. Being present is easy to say but harder to do. In this week, you will use techniques and space to practice being present to what is around you and notice all the things you can appreciate.

Week Three: Negative Thoughts & Loosening Their Control

Often our negative or self critical thoughts slow us down or stop us doing the things we want to do. This week you’ll learn how to loosen their power and control over what you do.

Week Four: Best Possible You

The future is yet to be created but if we don’t create it consciously, it risks being a repeat of the past. This week we will connect to the best possible future you can imagine, one you can’t wait to make happen and find your next step to making it happen.

Week Five: Best Possible World

Sometimes the world feels out of control and like it’s getting worse. There seem to be so many problems that are too big for us to solve alone. And yet, all positive change happens through the actions of individuals. In this week, you get connected to what world you want to create and tap into a strong feeling of purpose and motivation

Week Six:  Making Things Happen 

Part of feeling good is feeling like you can make things happen. In this week, bringing everything you have done before, you will map out your next steps.

After six weeks, you’ll have the tools to feel greater happiness, meaning, purpose, connection and power.

The course is delivered to you, week by week, as an audio, an exercise and an optional reflection journal. It has been designed to be easy, quick and action focussed. You can do the exercises week by week or you’ll have access to the materials for at least a year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t I know about this already?

Do read positive psychology journals for fun? (I have to admit I do) A lot of this stuff is buried in articles with snappy titles and words like positive affect and self efficacy. Or it get’s translated into those ‘5 ways’ articles which lack depth or a space to implement the techniques.

 What if I know about all of these already? 

If you know them but are not implementing them, join to have a space to practice and implement the things you know work. The power in this is the doing. Just knowing how to be happier or have a greater feeling of wellbeing isn’t enough.

Can you guarantee I’ll be happier than when the course begun? 

At the beginning of the course, you’ll be invited to assess and reflect on your current happiness and wellbeing levels. You’ll do the same at the end. All the techniques have been scientifically proven to improve happiness and wellbeing. But of course life happens. I’m not a wizard controlling the universe. If you engage and try things out, you will see a difference. If something happens in your life to dent your happiness and wellbeing, you may have a dip but you’ll have learnt the valuable tools to help you feel the best you can be.

Is this course about ‘seeing the bright side’ and being grateful for what we have?

Not at all. Feeling good is not synonymous with feeling happy all the time. We will cover being present and accepting your emotions and moods in week 2.

I’m really busy right now. Do I have to wait until I have more time? 

No! Everything is designed to be done around your life or in parallel with your life. I also cover how to find or make time for these things too. You’ll also have access to the materials for 6 months so you can come back and pick up again if you need to. 

What can I expect? 

Each week you will get a workbook and audio to listen to which will share a powerful exercise for you to do and the thinking (and evidence). Each week there will be a live Q&A, support call which can be watched on catchup. There will also be a facebook group for peer to peer support.

Can I join if I have a mental health condition?

This course is designed for people who are mentally well and in command of their mental health. If you are currently experiencing something that is impacting your ability to function day to day, please consult your GP. 

If you have had a diagnosed or undiagnosed condition like depression or anxiety, you are responsible for you own health and wellbeing. Please check with your doctor or therapist before signing up and put in place the mental health support in place to support you. Please also only do what you feel able to do and stop and get help if you need to. This course is not to be used in place of medical help and support for mental illness.
